Study, rehearsal, and performance of jazz music literature in a variety of styles, to include: blues, Dixieland, swing, bebop, Latin, fusion, and freeform. Performances on campus and in the immediate community are part of Jazz Ensemble activities. Three class hours per week plus 2 dress rehearsals. Students are expected to be able to read standard music notation. May be repeated once for credit. Prerequisite: MUS101 / 3 credits.
