The foundation of this course is the correct use of the variables applied in proper and appropriate tourism development. Topics include analysis of tourism supply components; local, regional and national government agencies; the social and economic implications for the residents of the host community; and visitor impact and implications. An analysis of destination infrastructure and super-structure issues as well as natural resource, capital and economic implications, with particular emphasis on employment issues, are discussed. Prerequisite: HRM140 / 3 credits.
