This introductory course, designed for individuals who are bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese, will focus on the basic competency skills necessary to work as a trained medical interpreter. The course follows the guidelines established by the statewide AHEC Medical Interpreter Training Program. Prerequisite: A score of 70 or better on the sentence skills Computerized Placement Test (CPT) or ESL201. A preregistration interview is required / 3 credits.
