The course provides comprehensive and advanced coverage of first aid skills for treatment of illness or injury, as well as Basic Life Support/ Healthcare provider (BLS/HCO) for the professional rescuer. Upon successful completion of the course, the participants receive certification in First Responder in accordance with Massachusetts General law Chapter 111: Section 201 and Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider in accordance with the standards established by the Committee on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care of the American Heart Association. Prerequisite: None / 3 credits. Offered in the Fall and Spring.
