Students rehearse and perform jazz in a variety of styles which may include: blues, Dixieland, swing, bebop, Latin, and rock. Performances on campus and in the immediate community are part of Jazz Combo activities. Students are expected to be able to read standard music notation. (Three class hours per week plus one dress rehearsal and one performance near the end of the semester.) Prerequisite: MUS101 or ability to read from standard musical notation / 1 credit. May be repeated for credit; 6 credit maximum.
