3 credits Focus on major works of 19th and 20thcentury German literature and their film adaptations. Readings include works by Büchner, Kafka, Mann, Brecht, B?l andDürrenmatt. Films by Herzog, Welles, Visconti, Schl?dorff, and others. Prerequisite: GER-201, placement test at 300-level or above, or GER-300 or above. Exceptions may be made for Study Abroad or native/heritage speakers with permission of chairperson.
