This course is designed to: provide in-service training in English as a Second Language, classroom methods and strategies for both ESL teaching assistants and mainstream classroom teachers; create a cadre of ESL teaching assistants to support Limited English Proficient (LEP) students; and, model appropriate methods, techniques and strategies for supporting the learning of newcomer and immigrant students in the classroom. Prerequisite: Satisfactory score on CPT or satisfactory completion of ENL050 / 3 credits.
