This course introduces the philosophy and history of fire protection, history of loss of life and property by fire, review of municipal fire defenses, study of the organization and function of federal, state, and private fire protection career opportunities. It will introduce various aspects of the fire protection profession. Prerequisite: ENL020 and ENL050 or satisfactory basic skills assessment score / 3 credits. Offered evenings in the Fall.
