This course provides an interdisciplinary approach to the art of the western world from the magical creations of the Old Stone Age to the magnificent works of the Gothic era. Illustrated lectures will deal with such topics as the ideas guiding the artistic creations, general stylistic trends, important methods, materials and techniques used.
