ResearchThis course builds on the expository writing and research foundation of ENG 11 with an increased emphasis on critical evaluation of sources in the media, in print, and on the World Wide Web. The course serves to strengthen academic writing through assignments that include essay development, argumentation strategies, and research writing. The culminating project will be a formal, argumentative, 5-8 page research paper that incorporates five or more sources and follows MLA guidelines. Prerequisite: ENG 11. Three class hours a week.
