IIUtilizing the interdisciplinary approach used in AMC 11, this course works toward an understanding of the United States in the historic context of the world since World War II. Themes of U.S. foreign policy that have emerged during this period are emphasized. A major focus of the course is the American experience with the Third World, particularly areas such as Vietnam, Central America and the Middle East, and the effect of that experience on the U.S. and its place in the world. Three class hours a week. 3 credits Fall, Spring, Summer "American Sign Language is hereby recognized as a full and legitimate language, as the language of a unique culture in the United States, and as the equivalent of a spoken language for the purpose of foreign language study and course credit." (MGL Chapter 15A ยง 9A
