This course covers the components in the business tier of an enterprise application known as Enterprise Java Beans (EJB). It focuses on the three types of beans--Session, Entity, and Message driven beans, issues pertaining to transactions, persistence, and security, and the role of EJBs in the enterprise application framework of J2EE. The course provides hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise java beans on an application server. Prerequisite: CIS 75 or permission of the instructor.
