Prerequisites: Satisfactory placement scores/READ 0099 and ENGL 0099 This is a course designed to emphasize the role of minorities in United States history and to bring students to a better awareness of their own place in culture, as well as the place of those around them. It is not simply for minority students. Minority groups who make up the bulk of the course study are: African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Latino- Americans, Native Americans and women. Taught only in the spring semester.
