3 laboratory hours 1 Credit Prerequisites: NUR 1010, NUR 1142 Co-requisites NUR 1022/1022L, NUR 1061, NUR 1023L (for the day program) This course presents an introduction to the concepts and skills of health assessment with a focus on normal physical assessment findings. The course is designed to assist students to integrate observations, inferences, and relationships among patient data when performing health assessments. Students will learn to apply various communication techniques to gather information regarding a client; and perform head to toe examinations. Students will be prepared to take complete health histories, perform physical examinations, and record data from same. Laboratory practicum is provided for the development of these physical skills.
