3 hours per week. Students will study the basic principles of nutrition and develop skills in applying the recommended dietary allowances to all age groups. The course emphasizes food nutrients, impact of diet on disease and healthy lifestyle across the life cycle. Cultural and economic factors related to food and consumer information regarding food safety are also major topics. Students will complete personal diet analyses.
