45 hours. This course covers the principles of effective curriculum design. It stresses the principles of adult learning and student-centered learning. Designing courses and units that address learning, performance, and behavioral objectives is the program goal. The curriculum is intended to facilitate the development of nationally applicable performance standards for uniformed fire service personnel. It is the goal of the Florida State Fire College and the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training to provide a comprehensive program that, when completed, the prospective instructor will have the knowledge and skills to present and/or to develop a training curriculum. NOTE: This course may require pre/post course work. Student will be notified prior to class.
