Prerequisites: STS 0003, STSC0155, HSC 1000, HSC 1531, BSCC1084. Corequisite: STS 0120. Introduction to the clinical environment of surgery, implementation of principles of aseptic technique, identification and use of instruments, use of suture and needles, transportation and positioning of the patients and the development of skill in hand scrubbing, gowning, and gloving procedures. Students begin to concentrate on clinical experience by circulating and scrubbing on all phases of surgery.
