Prerequisite: MATV0012 or appropriate placement score. An individualized approach to mathematics through the elementary development of the rational number system and an introduction to algebraic concepts including the study of quadratic equations; rational exponents and their properties; radicals; rational expressions; factoring; graphing linear functions and interpreting graphs; solving linear equations and inequalities. This course includes tools to improve math study skills, lower test taking and math anxiety, and understand the fundamental test taking skills. Upon completion of this course, students are required to take the State Exit Exam in order to complete the preparatory program. The use of calculators is not allowed.
