Study of the techniques and strategies for use in assessment and treatment of alcoholics, their families and significant others, with the goal of functional improvement in all life areas affected by alcoholrelated dysfunctional behaviors. Basic counseling skills will be taught including attending, responding, personalizing and initiating. Ethical principles will be discussed in the context of providing alcohol and substance abuse counseling and treatment services. SS ( C)
