Class hours: 48-54 lecture. Limitation on Enrollment: A current health care provider cardiopulmonary resuscitation card is required. Transfer Credit: CSU. Overview of the foundations in radiography and the practitioner's role in the health care delivery system. Topics include: communication techniques, professional ethics, legal considerations, the history of radiology, and safety of the radiographer through proper body mechanics. Care of patients with nasogastric tubes, geriatric and pediatric patients, and the acutely disturbed patient. Medical and surgical aseptic technique is studied in depth. Recognition of adverse reactions to contrast agents, and the treatment of these reactions. Theory of skills, including the taking of vital signs, enema administration, and urinary catheterization. 1225.00
