Discussion, demonstration, and application of developmental theory and the nursing process to meet the needs of patients in simulated and live acute care clinical situations. Students identify and care for the needs of patients with threats to the cardiovascular, pulmonary, and gastrointestinal systems, and apply theories related to alterations in mind and body as a result of substance abuse, eating/nutritional issues, and specific mental disorders. 1230.20
