Course is offered only on a pass/no-pass basis. Class hours: 48-54 lecture. Prerequisite: Placement recommendation by the ESL assessment test, or satisfactory completion of ESL- 546. An advanced reading course. Focus: improve reading efficiency by expanding vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking, and study skills. Students practice and develop whole language and critical thinking skills. Prepares students for degree-applicable courses. May be taken twice. 4930.81
