Viewing films, discussion, and critical lectures. Successive offerings will focus on the studio, directors, stars, western, musical, gangster, science fiction, epic, experimental films, family melodrama, hard-boiled detective, small film, and film noir. Development of film as an evolving art and its impact on commercial television and related visual media. Further emphasis on commercial filmmaking and methods of film criticism. 0612.10
