1-3 units; Number of hours equal to those in a 1-unit lecture course for each unit Prerequisite: Nomination by faculty member. Repeatability: May be taken 4 times. Limited to four units a semester per department. A directed studies course. Opportunity for students singly or in groups to investigate special areas of interest through projects, seminars, or organized classes. This course carries transfer subject matter credit and elective credit at four year institutions. Courses will be designated by department. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU. Transfers to UC with conditions: Students must retain a copy of the Special Studies form, the course syllabus and work completed for this course. Credit for this course is contingent upon a review of the course outline and other materials by the UC transfer campus.
