3 units; 3 hours Lecture, 1 hour Laboratory Recommended Preparation: MUS 6 or MUS 5 or equivalent skills. Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. Continues study of jazz theory and introduces jazz arranging. Includes chord spelling, chord progression, rhythm, melody, chord notation, instrument ranges. Form and music arranging for nine pieces. Knowledge equivalent to beginning jazz theory or music fundamentals is recommended for this course. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU. Transfers to UC.
