3 units; 2 hours Lecture, 3 hours Laboratory Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100, READ 100 and MATH 154. Explores the theory and practice of restoring native landscapes with the goal of promoting biodiversity, mimicking natural habitats, solving erosion problems and assessing compromised soil situations. Techniques such as grazing and burning to control invasive exotic plants, will be covered as well as the preservation of fragile plant communities, and propagation and seed collection methods. Field trips to local restoration sites included.
