3 units; 3 hours Lecture Prerequisite: ENGL 1A/1AH/1AMC/1AMCH. This course is an interdisciplinary, multi-cultural survey of the most explosive decade of the 20th century. Through poetry, music, biography, novels, videos, lectures by several instructors in their subject areas, and class discussions, students will examine the politics, arts, music and spirit of the decade in order to see themselves more clearly and form a better understanding of the present.
