1-3 units; 1 hour Lecture Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100 when taught in English, or concurrent enrollment in ESL 201A or ESL 220A or higher ESL level when taught in Spanish. Explores effective approaches to communication and problem solving with two- to five-year-olds that build self-esteem and protect the dignity of both children and adults. Focuses on encouraging cooperation and setting age appropriate and consistent limits. Appropriate for parents, foster parents, and family childcare home providers. May also be taught in Spanish as part of the Bilingual Spanish/English ECE teacher skills certificate. May be offered in a Distance-Learning Format.
