Surveys significant literary works, mainly from non-Western cultures, written in or translated into English, including short stories, poetry, novels, plays, films, and/or criticism. Investigates primary texts within the historical, political, social, and cultural contexts in which they were produced. Also investigates primary texts within historical, social, and cultural contexts in which they have been read, and validated or marginalized. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU. Transfers to UC.
