5 units; 2 hours Lecture, 14 hours Laboratory Repeatability: May be taken a total of 2 times. Prerequisite: Enrollment in the Dental Hygiene Program and DH 171. Corequisite: DH 162B, DH 163B, and DH 174. Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. Introduces dental & periodontal charting, desensitizing procedures, pit & fissure sealants, ultrasonic scalers, and Gracey curets through laboratory and clinical experiences. Second in a four-course series in clinical dental hygiene practice.
