3 units; 2 hours Lecture Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. An introduction to the teaching profession in the United States that encourages thinking about teaching in new ways. Assumptions about teaching and learning are reexamined by looking at educational philosophies, learning theory, curriculum and diversity in today's classroom. A Service Learning component will be incorporated into the course. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU. Transfers to UC.
