4 units; 4 hours Lecture, 4 hours Laboratory Prerequisite: CIS 81 and CIS 90 or equivalent. Recommended Preparation: CIS 191AB; Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. Build and monitor network infrastructures, and install, configure, and protect services on Linux TCP/IP networks. Topics include the TCP/IP model, DHCP, DNS, NFS, SAMBA, FTP, HTTP, firewalls and various WAN technologies such as PPP and Virtual Private Networks. Readies students for Linux network administration through preparation for industry certification.
