4 units; 4 hours Lecture Corequisite: CHIN 50L. Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. Introduction to understanding, speaking, reading and writing modern Mandarin Chinese. Increasing emphasis will then be placed upon reading and writing as well as speaking and understanding. This course May be offered in a Distance-Learning Format. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU.
