3 units; 2 hours Lecture, 4 hours Laboratory Repeatability: May be taken a total of 2 times. Prerequisite: AP 9A or AP 40ID or equivalent skills; and CS 1L or DM 1 or equivalent skills. Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. Teaches tools and techniques for creating expressive photographic images with Adobe Photoshop including scanning, importing, manipulating, printing and digital output. Covers menus and tools, selection controls, retouching, global and selective image adjustments, filters & effects, compositing, and combining text and imagery. Taught on Macintosh. Adaptable to Windows. Students may use either film or digital cameras. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU.
