For parents, aides, teachers, and directors of child care facilities. Addresses biological, psychological and sociological needs, assessments, issues, policies, procedures and how they impact a child's development. Emphasis is placed on demonstration and application of course content within the family and community. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification is completed (books and certification costs are at the student's expense). Totally fulfills California licensing mandate of 15 hours of training in preventative health practices. Recommended: Reading Level 5 or 6. Hours: 54 lect. Field trips required. Offered: F, S, SS.
