Fundamentals of programming and operating computer systems in BASIC (Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code). Develops structured programming and general problemsolving tools in business mathematics, physical sciences, social sciences, and other disciplines. Prerequisite: MATH BA or one year of high school algebra or equivalent or evaluation by the instructor of the student's math skills. Recommended: COMS B10 (may be taken concurrently), Reading Level 5 or 6. Hours: 54 lect. Offered: F, S. CCS: Occupational Education. Transferable: UC, CSU and private colleges. BC GE B.2; CSU GE B.4.
