A biological introduction to the study of disrupted normal functioning of the human body. Reviews principles from anatomy, physiology, and chemistry as foundation for study of basic disease process concepts, body systems, etiology, and pathogenesis of various disorders. Explores diagnostic procedures, preventative measures, and current therapeutic regimes. Emphasis on various physiological concepts with related pathological implication for increased understanding and recognition of many of the human disorders. An elective course to augment and strengthen all pre-allied health pathways such as nursing, radiology, respiratory therapy, and the clinical laboratory. Prerequisite: BIOL B14 and B15 or BIOL B32 and B33. Hours: 54 lect. Offered: F, S. CCS: Liberal Arts and Sciences. Transferable: CSU and private colleges.
