This course is designed to acquaint the student with the major social issues and problems facing contemporary American society. This course focuses on the origins, sustaining causes, implications and possible solutions to societal issues. While emphasis will be on the national level, substantial imput will also be placed on local and international events and situations. Emerging concepts such as globalization will also be addressed.
