3 units 3 hours weekly Limitation on Enrollment: TB skin test within past year. Fingerprints are required by the State of California. Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 099 and READ 099. An introduction to the field of physical education and the related fields of health education, recreation and sport. Specifically, the psychological, philosophical, pedagogical, sociological, historical and career preparation areas of physical education and related careers will be studied. Current trends, issues and developments in physical education will be explored. Each student will participate in field experience of teaching a lesson in physical education. The course is designed for students who are majoring or minoring in physical education or related career goals. (CSU, UC, AVC)
