3 hours weekly This course is designed for students wishing to take the Science portion of the GED exam. The course covers an overview of basic knowledge of physics, chemistry, space science, earth science, and biology as well as practice in test taking skills. Course themes include change, conservation of mass and energy, interactions, relationships, and time and space. Additional emphasis is placed on developing a scientific vocabulary. Students enrolled in this class need at least a fifth grade reading level. (R2)
