3 units 3 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for College Level Reading and ENGL 101. This course will survey the history and culture of Latin America and the Caribbean. Emphasis is placed on understanding the history and culture of the area. A study will be done on the historical development of the area and its indigenous population. A general study will be done on the geography of the area. Discussion will be done on European contact and its impact on the people of the area. A contemporary look at the region will be explored.
