1 unit 1 hour weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 095 and READ 095 (AVC Assessment). Students will increase the number of words they know and use; make full use of the dictionary; determine the correct pronunciation of words; infer the meaning of words using context clues, base words and affixes; differentiate words that are pronounced the same or similarly. This course is intended for students in all courses who wish to develop a college-level vocabulary. NOTE: No grade will be given for this class; student will receive "pass" or "npass" only. (Credit course not applicable to the associate degree and certificate programs.)
