An introductory analysis of the literary, social, and cultural aspects of novels, short stories, essays, poetry, and theater, reflecting Mexican-American society. The course will study the contributions of Chicanos in literature and how various literary forms express their world view and culture. The course will deal with the Mexican-American in relation to American whites including issues of racism and sexism. (CSU, UC, AVC)
