5 units 6 hours weekly (3 hours lecture, 3 hours lab) Prerequisite: Completion of MATH 102. Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 101 and READ 099. This course covers discrete mathematics, logic Boolean algebra, binary arithmetic, logic gates, combinatorial logic, and minimization techniques. Includes an introduction to sequential circuits, state machines and synchronous state machine design. Students will design combinatorial circuits, flipflops, multivibrators, registers and counters. (CSU, UC, AVC)
