3 units 4 hours weekly Prerequisite: Completion of CA 103 or CA 221 or CIS 101. Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 099, READ 099, and MATH 070. This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform in the role of network administrator or system manager. Students will be able to accomplish basic and fundamental network management tasks on a NetWare 6.0 network. Students will identify a NetWare 6.0 network, including the physical components and their function, services available and the role of E-directory in accessing and managing those services. Students will identify the issues involved in using and managing a multicontext E-directory environment. This course assists in the preparation for the Novell Administration CNA Exam #50-686. BEFORE ENROLLING students must have basic understanding of and experience with computer terminology, microcomputer hardware and software, and disk and file management. (CSU, AVC)
