3 units 3 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for College Level Reading, ENGL 101 and MATH 070. Study of creation, production, marketing and merchandising of fashion and fabric. Emphasis placed on consumer influences, acceptance and forecasting of fashion as they relate to manufacturing and merchandising product lines. History of fashion evolution along with international and domestic design centers are included. Overview of textile products, trims development and marketing will also be covered. Introduction to promotion and advertising of retail fashion along with an overview of employment opportunities in all areas of fashion and textile industry will be included. (CSU, AVC)
