An introductory analysis of the literary, social, and cultural aspects of novels, short stories, essays, and poetry reflecting Native-American society. The course will study the contributions of Nativeh Americans in literature and how various literary forms express their world views and cultures. The course will deal with the Native-American in relation to Western culture including issues of racism and sexism. (CSU, UC, AVC)
