Prerequisite: ENGWR 300 with a grade of "C" or better.Course Transferable to UC/CSU Hours: 54 hours LEC This course is a study of the structure of English grammar, both descriptive and prescriptive. It includes the study and practice of traditional grammar and standard usage, with emphasis on the relationship to writing (2000 word writing requirement) and the teaching of language arts; it also includes an introduction to the history of the English language and selected issues of language acquisition among the culturally diverse population in California schools. It is designed for those who plan to teach or who are especially interested in grammar as it relates to writing.
