Prerequisite: ET 100 with a grade of "C" or better, orTelecommunications Industry Experience. Hours: 54 hours LEC This course expands on the concepts mastered in the Introduction to Telecommunication Systems course. Voice/data switching and transmission theory including system operation and design are covered in detail. Emphasis is placed on fi ber optics and the newest methods of high speed data transfer. Also included are advanced high speed switching/routing systems along with their associated hardware/software. Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) is also covered. Field Trips are required.
