Prerequisite: AT 322 (Engine Performance & Electronic Engine Controls) with a grade of "C" or better or one year work experience inautomotive engine performance Course Transferable to CSU Hours: 72 hours LEC; 108 hours LAB This course covers the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) certifi ed Basic and Advanced Clean Air Car Course, which now includes the former On Board Diagnostics (OBD) II update course, and the BAR 03/04 and 05/06 update courses. Topics include: smog check laws, rules and regulations; exhaust emission analysis; emission control systems diagnosis; smog inspection procedures; digital storage oscilloscopes (DSO) usage; loaded mode emission testing and smog check failure diagnosis. It is required for fi rst-time licensed technicians or for those whose license has been expired for more than one year. This course may be taken four times for credit.
